Airforce Gen. Foglesong Visits Sierra Leone

The Commander of the United Stated Air Force in Europe, General Robert H. Foglesong, visited Sierra Leone on Monday December 15.

He came to personally thank President Kabbah and his government for their support in promoting peace and democracy both within Sierra Leone and to the entire region. The General also wants to reassure the Sierra Leonean people that the United States Government and its military are fully committed to the Government of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces on its initiatives in providing security and stability here and to all of West Africa.  President Kabbah received General Foglesong at the Presidential Lodge.

General Foglesong is an experienced Command Pilot and commander with over 30 years of service in the United States Air Force. He is currently Commander of the United States Air Forces in Europe, Commander, Allied Air Forces Northern Europe and Air Component Commander, U.S. European Command at Ramstein Air Base, in Germany.

General Foglesong was hosted by U.S. Ambassador Peter R. Chaveas and Mrs. Chaveas, and was accompanied by his wife Mary, the Commander Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air force in Europe, Chief Master Sergeant Gary G. Coleman, and several other key leaders and advisors within his command.
