Embassy's Clarification of AWOKO Article

The United States Embassy notes with concern a front page article entitled “US Embassy’s Official Stabs Co-tenant” in the AWOKO newspaper of Tuesday, December 4, 2007 and wishes to make the following clarification.

The alleged incident occurred a month ago and did not involve a “U.S. Official,” as was reported by the newspaper.

Since the alleged incident is under investigation by the police, the U.S. Embassy has no further comment.
